Below is some general information we've compiled for the standard visitors' questions.


 Maps & Directions


We have recently moved into our new quarters - Mazel Tov! Our shul, school and offices are at the Ala Moana Hotel (410 Atkinson Drive in Waikiki) in the former Hawaiian Hut Restaurant.  To get to the Chabad House, walk up the right side of the circular entrance to the hotel and there are stairs on your right leading to our Chabad House about halfway up the hotel entrance driveway. 

Our offices are open from 9:00 am - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Please feel free to call with your inquiries and reservations.  Please do read further so you will be better equipped with information before calling.

 Shacharit: 8:15 am Sun-Fri, 10:00 am Shabbat

Mincha/Maariv Friday evenings begins just after Candle Lighting (call for exact times)

KOSHER FOOD / SHABBAT MEALS
 

In regards to Shabbat meals:  We have a weekly Shabbaton with public communal, - delicious, home-made and gourmet - meals on Friday night. Also, we serve a full Kiddush/lunch on Shabbat.  The cost for the dinner (which also includes lunch): Adults and children over 12 - $65; $45 for children ages 2 -12. Prepaid reservations are required. We accept cash, check or credit cards. (If you plan on coming only for the Shabbat lunch, a donation of $20 per person is suggested – still an excellent bargain for kosher in Hawaii!).

With regard to food in Honolulu:
 NEW KOSHER DELI OPENS IN HONOLULU!

      Deli sandwiches,steaks and burgers, fries and falafel, and a delicious full-service menu is now available at Chabad's new takeout service, JERUSALEM KOSHER DELI! (Advance order required. Delivery available.)  Meats, poultry and other kosher foods will all be available shortly for purchase. All at Chabad of Hawaii's new restaurant /take-out service and it is all Glatt Kosher (under the supervision of Rabbi Krasnjansky). Take-out service has begun on January 16,2012 and expanding in the next few weeks to a full service restaurant, G-d willing. More information re the take-out service options, menus and pricing can be had by calling the deli directly at 808-888-9052 or email jerusalemkosherdeli@gmail.com   
     There are also some products with recognized Hechshers (Kosher symbols) available at local supermarkets, such as Safeway, (most recommended), Whole Foods (health food supermarket), Foodland and Times.


HOTEL
:

We highly recommend that you stay at the Ala Moana Hotel which has undergone a multimillion dollar renovation, looks stunning, is centrally located, extremely conveniently for you on Shabbat -  on the same grounds as Chabad of Hawaii, and offers a wide array of amenities. Should you decide to make the Ala Moana your holiday home, please allow us to help you with your reservation as we have been able to negotiate a discounted rate! Remember, your patronage at the Ala Moana Hotel helps Chabad of Hawaii continue to bring Torah to life in the Hawaiian Islands!

Additionally, you may want to consider purchasing our unique and beautiful Aloha Hawaiian Kippot! They are sewn especially for us, made of cotton, with prints wearable on both sides and wash beautifully - and make a unique gift or souvenir of your stay in Hawaii. Each kippah has a different combination of patterns. Please call us if you are interested in purchasing any of these lovely yarmulkes. The kippahs are $8 each (+ shipping, if we will be mailing them to you.
