Below is some general information we've compiled for the standard visitors' questions.


 Maps & Directions


Our school and offices are at the Ala Moana Hotel (410 Atkinson Drive in Waikiki) in the Kona Tower, 2nd Floor, Suite 2E1.  The shul is located in the hotel lobby, next to the Kona Tower elevators.

Our offices are open from 9:30 am - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Please feel free to call with your inquiries and reservations.  Please do read further so you will be better equipped with information before calling.

 

 

 

MINYANIM

 

Shacharit: 7:45 am Mon-Fri, 8:00 am Sun, 10:00 am Shabbat

Mincha/Maariv Friday evenings begins just after Candle Lighting (call for exact times)

KOSHER FOOD
 

 


With regard to Shabbat meals:  We have a weekly Shabbaton with public communal, - delicious, home-made and gourmet - meals on Friday night. Also, we serve a full Kiddush/lunch on Shabbat.  The cost for the dinner (which also includes lunch): Adults and children over 12 - $60; $40 for children ages 2 -12. Prepaid reservations are required. We accept cash, check or credit cards. (If you plan on coming only for the Shabbat lunch, a donation of $15 per person is suggested – still an excellent bargain for kosher in Hawaii!)

 


With regard to food in Honolulu:
 

 

 

Deli sandwiches, burgers, fries and falafel, meats, poultry and other kosher foods are all available for purchase at Oahu Kosher and is all Glatt Kosher (under the supervision of Rabbi Krasnjansky). 

 

More information can be found at www.oahukosher.com or by calling 808-888-4949 or email at info@oahukosher.com. There are also some products with recognized Hechshers (Kosher symbols) available at local supermarkets, such as Safeway, (most recommended), Star Market, Foodland and Times.


HOTEL
:

We highly recommend that you stay at the Ala Moana Hotel which has just undergone a multimillion dollar renovation, looks stunning, is centrally located, and offers a wide array of amenities. Should you decide to make the Ala Moana your holiday home, please allow us to help you with your reservation as we have been able to negotiate a discounted rate! Remember, your patronage at the Ala Moana Hotel helps Chabad of Hawaii continue to bring Torah to life in the Hawaiian Islands!

Additionally, you may want to consider purchasing our unique and beautiful Aloha Hawaiian Kippot! They are sewn especially for us, made of cotton, with prints wearable on both sides and wash beautifully - and make a unique gift or souvenir of your stay in Hawaii. Each kippah has a different combination of patterns. Please call us if you are interested in purchasing any of these lovely yarmulkes.
