Happy Purim!
Join us for Purim 2024 at Chabad of Hawaii

Rabbi's Message

Purim has four main Mitzvot:

Purim at Chabad of Hawaii is a really happy and festive time where we celebrate the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia.

Let us celebrate the eternity of the Jewish people and know - just as in the days of Queen Esther and Mordechai - that our salvation will come from the One Above, when we turn to him with sincerity and prayer and good deeds.

Lots of Purim info below - whether you join us or celebrate elsewhere!

Wishing you a happy Purim & we hope to see you at Chabad!

Rabbi Itchel and Perel Krasnjansky

Food Gifts to Friends
~
Mishloach Manot

On Purim we emphasize the importance of Jewish unity and friendship by sending gifts of food to friends.

On Purim day, send a gift of at least two kinds of ready-to-eat foods (e.g., pastry, fruit, beverage) to at least one friend.  Children, in addition to sending their own gifts of food to their friends, make enthusiastic messengers.

Giving to the Needy
~
Matanot L'evyonim

On Purim day we place special emphasis on caring for the less fortunate.

Give money to at least two needy people during Purim. In case you can’t find any needy people, Chabad of Hawaii will be collecting money for this purpose.
