Chabad of Hawaii’s Building Campaign

After twenty years of consistent growth and community enthusiasm for our programs, we are proud to announce this coming year, we will be building a new Shul, Mikveh and school, complete with a versatile social hall and event room to meet all our community’s needs.

With the help of our generous friends and supporters, we will soon move from vision to reality. Please join us on this important endeavor.

Chabad of Hawaii offers educational, social and spiritual programs for all ages – from Hebrew School to teen programs to adult education, as well as holiday programming, counseling and pastoral services.

Now in its twentieth year of service to the Jewish community, Chabad of Hawaii’s explosive growth has exceeded all expectations.  With each new year, Chabad of Hawaii has seen each of its programs grow and has been able to offer an expanded roster of services to the community, bringing an exciting new level of joy and awareness to Hawaii’s Jewish life.

Hawaii is home to a small but unusually vibrant and accomplished Jewish population. We host hundreds of tourists throughout the year, and offer them a home in Paradise, somewhere to pray and eat together with the Hawaiian Jewish community.

Until now, Chabad of Hawaii has been instrumental in filling this gap by providing a selection of important educational programs and social services.  As it expands, however, we recognize that our programming requires a home of its own.  The enthusiastic response to Chabad of Hawaii’s educational programs has proven a clear demand for a comprehensive educational center that will enrich the lives of everyone in Hawaii, from the smallest child to the most senior of our citizens – an accepting, encouraging and inspiring center for Jewish life, open to all.

Thus, Chabad of Hawaii has undertaken to develop a full-service Chabad House with programming for children, teens and adults, including  Hebrew school, summer and winter camps, and a center for adult education. We hold weekly Shabbat Dinners and fully catered Shabbat Kiddush lunch, which with the building of our synagogue will be held in our own premises, bringing Jewish rituals to life for the Hawaiian community. Catering to all facets of Jewish life, its modern and handsome facilities will include a library, social hall, sanctuary/lecture hall and mikvah.

Of course, creating an institution of which the community can be truly proud requires more than just a beautiful, well-equipped building. From the start, Chabad of Hawaii has endeavored to give Hawaii’s Jewish community the most satisfying experience possible; and the new Jewish Community Center remains committed to providing the best quality programming according to the highest professional standards.

We invite you to make a dedication in the new building. It will serve as an eternal symbol of commitment to the Jewish community. You can make the dedication in memory or in honor of a loved one. A Mikvah is a foundation of Jewish life, and through your donations our dream will become a reality.
